Pro Helvetia’s international work is guided by the following goals and activities:

Encounter and Exchange: Through its international activities Pro Helvetia helps create conditions that allow arts professionals and cultural practitioners to explore and address other cultures and to achieve creative development.

Dissemination and networking: Pro Helvetia promotes the dissemination of culture and arts from Switzerland. It highlights the diversity of the Swiss cultural scene and chooses representatives on the basis of their outstanding qualities.

Cultural representation of Switzerland: Pro Helvetia is accountable to the political sector. Swiss culture offers a platform for the representation of Switzerland in foreign countries.

Transformational assistance (through mandates by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation): Local capacity building, transition management, and knowledge transfer in the framework of social development processes.
